The development of mutant powers in human beings is usually characterized by the development of abnormal and even uncontrolled physical or mental alterations. Sudden burst of energy, heightened senses or abilities exceeding the normal human limits may occur in the individuals like rapid healing, telepathy or development of superhuman strength. Such forces may cause physical effects such as glowing eyes, alterations in skin texture or uncontrolled outbursts of heat or cold within the body. At the psychological level, individuals may experience severe confusion, an emotional state, or the inability to control those new capacities, particularly when they are under stress. These symptoms normally occur randomly, usually in the adolescent stage, or at the times of intense emotional stress indicating the release of repressed mutant nature.
