This book is the story of Britannia's quest to find Captain Grant. After recovering the bottle that the captain had thrown into the sea after the shipwreck of Britannia, Sir Glenaarvan of Scotland and his wife contacted Grant's young daughters and sons, Mary and Robert, through a newspaper announcement, and the government refused to start a rescue operation. However, moved by the children's request, Sir Glenarvan and his wife decide to rescue themselves.
